FG Map out Monday November 11th as public holiday


FG declares Monday November 11th public holiday   The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday November 11th as public holiday to mark the 2019 Eid-ul-Mawlud in commemoration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government. He congratulated Muslims on the occasion and enjoined them to live within the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad which are; love, courage and perseverance. Mr Aregbesola expressed confidence that the challenges confronting Nigeria at the moment will soon be over. He called on Nigerians to remain focused and determined. “With love, commitment, self-sacrifice, patience and patriotism, we will certainly, build a greater Nigeria,” he said.

Announcement On Counter-Terrorism Simulation Exercise Along Minna -Zungeru Road This is to inform the general public, especially residents of Pandogari, Zungeru and Minna areas of Niger State, that the Nigerian Air Force will conduct a simulation exercise on counter-terrorism nicknamed EXERCISE BABBAN NAUSHI along Minna-Zungeru Road on Friday, 8 November 2019. Accordingly, there will be movement of military aircraft, vehicles, equipment, personnel as well as firing of live ammunition during the period of the routine military exercise. Additionally, there will be restriction of vehicular movement during the period of the Exercise along aforementioned road. Members of the public are advised not to panic but go about their normal businesses as the Nigerian Air Force will endeavour to minimize disruptions to normal

Nigeria closed its border with Benin Republic on August 21, making it impossible for Ghanaian traders whose goods are in transit from Nigeria through Benin or vice versa to transport their wares. The group said: "About 100 trucks of goods belonging to Ghanaian traders have been locked up in Nigeria following that economic decision, with many of the traders who took loans for their businesses counting their losses."
